Reading Task Analysis
The Reading Task Analysis activity was full of insights. By going though the reading process so painstakingly, I was able to make connections within my current understanding. I was also able to see where there are gaps in my understanding of the reading process. I think the thing that stuck out the most for me was all of the pieces that need to be in place before the student even enters the classroom, in order for them to be successful readers. Things like having had breakfast, a good night sleep, a feeling of being safe, and coming from a culture that values reading plus so much more, are those hidden factors that can often be overlooked but are fundamental for student’s success.
